A prevention-focused foundation for Southern Indiana
WHO WE ARE
Founded in 1978 to support the Floyd County-owned hospital, today the health foundation now invests in community-based programs that strengthen children, families, and neighborhoods before crises occur.
By advancing prevention, education, and partnerships, we are working to improve health outcomes across Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, and Washington counties.

The Strategic Partnerships Fund is open in August 2026
Starting in August 2026, the Foundation is changing how we fund mental health work in Southern Indiana. Our new Strategic Partnerships Fund invests $1.89 million over three years in nonprofits expanding access to mental health care and in prevention before people reach a crisis.

OUR IMPACT
Mental Health Focused
In 2025, the Health Foundation awarded $400,000 in grants to 21 nonprofit organizations across Southern Indiana, marking the Foundation’s first grant cycle under its new name and updated community-focused mission centered on mental health.
Funded programs include school-based therapy, suicide prevention training, substance use counseling, trauma-informed care, youth mentorship, family recovery services, and community-based mental health education.
